Blockdaemon will update Cardano nodes to v10.1.3 and Ogmios nodes to v6.10.0 on 01/08/25. We are updating our nodes due to a release from the Cardano foundation. These versions are mandatory prior to the Chang#2 hard fork. This update applies to all Blockdaemon Cardano and Ogmios nodes, there will be planned downtime of up to 60 minutes per node.
Cardano v10 introduces the concept of DRep (Delegated Representative) as part of their governance structure. This will become pertinent once the Chang#2 hard fork is realised. There is no specified date for the Chang#2 hard fork, however the Cardano Foundation have estimated it will take place middle of January. We will release more information on this as available.
Ogmios v6.9.0 introduces the following changes regarding new transaction submission / evaluation errors: - EmptyTreasuryWithdrawal (code=3168) triggered when a transaction contains a governance proposal with an empty treasury withdrawal. - UnexpectedMempoolError (code=3997) triggered when a transaction is rejected due to custom arbitrary rules that prevented it from entering the mempool.
We have tested the releases and do not anticipate any unexpected downtime other than mentioned above as a result of the update. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
This scheduled maintenance affected: Staking Reporting API (Cardano Staking Reporting), Staking API (Cardano Staking API), Public Validators (Cardano Validator), and Protocols (Dedicated Nodes) (Cardano).
