Scheduled

Blockdaemon will update all BNB Smart Chain (BSC) nodes to v1.6.2 on November 4, 2025 at 10:00 UTC.
We are updating our nodes due to the official release for BNB Smart Chain (BSC). There may be planned downtime of up to ten minutes.

Summary of Technical Changes
• Incorporates Fermi hard fork items, including BEP-619 to reduce block interval to 0.45s and BEP-590 extended voting rules for fast finality stability.
• Adds BEP-592 non-consensus block-level access list support and BEP-593 incremental snapshot capability.
• Introduces a new WebSocket RPC filter API for transaction receipt notifications.
• Adds “ProxyedNodeIds” configuration to improve block propagation efficiency.
• Includes EVM opcode-level execution optimizations and miner/performance improvements (e.g., config updates for higher gas limits and vote broadcast tweaks).

Customer Impact
During the maintenance window, customers may experience a brief interruption in RPC availability or short delays in block and transaction data while nodes restart and apply the upgrade. Normal operation will resume once all nodes are back online.

Additional Information
Blockdaemon has validated this release and does not anticipate unexpected disruptions beyond any stated downtime.
