Blockdaemon will update all BNB Smart Chain (BSC) nodes to v1.6.2 on November 4, 2025 at 10:00 UTC. We are updating our nodes due to the official release for BNB Smart Chain (BSC). There may be planned downtime of up to ten minutes.
Summary of Technical Changes • Incorporates Fermi hard fork items, including BEP-619 to reduce block interval to 0.45s and BEP-590 extended voting rules for fast finality stability.  • Adds BEP-592 non-consensus block-level access list support and BEP-593 incremental snapshot capability.  • Introduces a new WebSocket RPC filter API for transaction receipt notifications.  • Adds “ProxyedNodeIds” configuration to improve block propagation efficiency.  • Includes EVM opcode-level execution optimizations and miner/performance improvements (e.g., config updates for higher gas limits and vote broadcast tweaks). 
Customer Impact During the maintenance window, customers may experience a brief interruption in RPC availability or short delays in block and transaction data while nodes restart and apply the upgrade. Normal operation will resume once all nodes are back online.
